Since it’s not far from home, I have come to shoot quite a bit at Discovery Park in Muscatine. This was one of the more interesting opportunities when we had a brief warm up after a long cold spell. It didn’t last very long but long enough to create some fog one morning, and the fractures in the ice made for some nice leading lines.
This pond isn’t used during the winter but it’s a popular fishing spot during the spring, summer, and fall. It get’s stocked twice a year with rainbow trout, which is nice. A buddy of mine and his son actually had a nice morning catching some bass too, which is the most I’ve ever seen taking out of this pond in such a short time. They must have the gift for it.
