As the Northern Cardinals prepare for nesting, it appeared that the female was the more purposeful of the pair. She has been on the driven, and continuous search for material, twigs, sticks, and grasses, and she’s making quick work of the nest building itself. And soon she will lay the eggs in her created cradle and begin the tedious incubation which will continue for just shy of two weeks. It might seem that the male of the pair isn’t doing too much, but there are signs that he is about to contribute greatly…as evidenced by his feeding of the female the other day. He will cater to her throughout the nesting period. They make a beautiful couple don’t they?
