In my humble opinion, there aren’t many things that look better than a passing eagle in a full wing spread…you can see virtually every flight and tail feather on the bird. Over the years I’ve caught a few good ones…but they never get old…and frankly, I could never have enough.
It’s later in March now, and as is common, many eagles are either on breeding territories already, and others are heading that way. A few stragglers will stick around late into the month but even those will be gone as the weather continues to warm up. The local birds will do their thing…have their babies, and look forward to the day when they can send them on their way. The old birds will take a break…perhaps tweak their nests a bit…and then look to take on winter once again. My plan is to be waiting for them.
