Wingover – Bald Eagle

February 17, 2020

It is the most dramatic move in the Bald Eagles repertoire.  The wingover provides a way to rapidly change direction…and it’s most commonly seen as they are flying along and see a fish or prey down below…by turning the wings into the vertical plane, they are able to drop almost instantly, down to the surface of the water, where they’ll once again level out, and make the catch.   For me, seeing these wingovers, is the most enjoyable part about watching them.
