Resilience

January 25, 2023

If you look closely, you can see that the left eye of this eagle is not normal. Depending on how the light hits it, it ranges from black to pale blue. Most likely it’s not working well at all, and it leaves this bird with one good eye to hunt and fish with. Yet, it seems to be doing just fine. Over the years I have witnessed eagles with deformed or damaged beaks, injured feet that would not grip, and broken or missing feathers of all kinds…and yet they seem to persist, and in some cases, even thrive. Their resilience is amazing.
