It always makes me smile when I see a young eagle doing wise things like an older bird might do. Take for instance this youngster…on cold windy days, it hunts from pine trees right at the end of the lock chamber. I suspect some birds don’t like the feel of the pine branches on their feet, but it never bothered this bird. Her flights for fish were short, direct, and quite often successful. If she keeps this up, barring any unforeseen injury, she should live a good long life.
