Great Grey Owl In Minnesota

March 20, 2025

The second times a charm as they say. Our first trip to Minnesota got cut short due to some weather and obligations back home. But there was a pull to go back because it felt like I left a lot on the table up there. Fortunately we had the time to spend a few more days on the North shore of Lake Superior and the weather for the most part was cooperative. A little snow, a bit of sunshine, a cloudy afternoon, and a bit of wind, provided a variety of shots a couple of Great Grey Owls in the Two Harbors area.

In the end I couldn’t have come out happier if I had tried. I may never see birds like this so up close and personal again, but I can say I’ve experienced it at least once now, and it has left a memorable impression on me. They are such amazing and interesting birds!
