Accipiters, which are a genus in the family of hawks, are very specialized in their work. They are hunters of the forests and the woods. I always find myself wanting to showcase a bird like this in a darker scene. It’s not meant to make them look sinister, but it’s just a common tone of their favorite habitat. With long tails and shorter wings than say, a falcon, they are extremely quick and agile, twisting and turning rapidly and with precision in a very congested airspace. This Sharp-shinned Hawk, much like its relatives, the Coopers Hawk, and Goshawk, certainly likes to live life in the fast lane.
