It takes a lot of energy to defend your flower patch or feeder from intruders…be they other hummingbirds, bees, or butterflies. This guy has always been up for the challenge. This image is kind of special to me…it was just a pose I’ve wanted to catch for a long time. Hummers go into this little stretch move every now and then…it’s fun to watch but it’s great to have it happen in front of the camera. l love the full tail spread and the determined look. And you hope it all comes out in focus, and this one is pretty close to that. So, I’m happy…until I come up with something better.
