Wee Warriors

For their diminutive size, hummingbirds are incredibly tough. This particular pose is more of a stretch than an act of aggression though. That said, if you happened to be another hummingbird looking to have a sip from this guy’s feeder or flower patch…you’d be in for a wuppin’. It makes sense though. Nectar is their primary fuel for survival, especially as they gear up for the long migration to the south. That makes the turf worth fighting for!
