Up And Down – Bald Eagle

December 12, 2022

It’s been a mild start to the winter around here. We had a quick cold snap, but then things warmed up again…which a lot of people seem quite happy about. As my bird interests go, warm weather is usually not good for eagle congregations, but it does open up the marshes to swans. Conversely, if it gets cold, the marshes freeze up, and the swans depart, but the eagle numbers start to build up around the dams where open waters remain for fishing. In the end, you learn to stay flexible and remain grateful for any opportunity to be out amongst the birds.
