Unchanged

December 16, 2020

Watching an owl float over the prairie grasses, you have to wonder how long this kind of thing has been going on. It’s mesmerizing in a way, and enough to take your imagination back through the years and to think that this simple act has been going on, unchanged for the most part, for thousands of years. Iowa certainly doesn’t look the same, but a few years isn’t enough to change this owl’s look, and overall behavior. Although it has no doubt had to adapt to more concentrated hunting grounds in the last few hundred years. It’s good to be out there with them, watching them do what they do, and feeling like maybe time really is standing still…if only in one’s imagination.
