
I remain thoroughly impressed by the Bald Eagle’s agility in the air. They are fast (when they want to be) and extremely good at changing directions post haste. This bird is a good example…this is just the first move in a rocking and rolling, winding S-type turn that lined it up for the fish grab. They will always fly into the wind on their final approach. It helps them remain very precise in their descent to dinner, and it allows them to lift (sometimes very large fish) out of the water. They are impressive on the wing.
