Oh Ben

February 1, 2022

Just sitting down to a little breakfast and started thinking about…well, eagles. Most of you probably know Ben Franklin was opposed to having the eagle as our national symbol. He had watched many of them over the years and viewed their behavior as a bit unsavory. They will, after all, resort to thievery, or scavenging to get by, along with hunting and fishing. Ben thought the wild turkey was nobler. But I think Ben was letting his head rule his heart…because you cannot watch an eagle soar without feeling something inspiring or good inside. They epitomize freedom, power, and resilience. That doesn’t sound so bad to me.
