I’ll just come right out and say it…most of the time, the world is a real sh*t show. There is a crisis or catastrophe around every corner. I guess in retrospect, it’s always been this way, but you would be hard pressed to find a time when it was more consistently thrown in your face. For me, it’s become a balance of staying informed to a degree…while trying to pick my sources as wisely as I can…and making no claim that they are somehow superior. But I can say I have basically boycotted the news on the whole, and have felt a lot better for doing so.
Of course you have to do what you feel is best for you…but I might suggest that we all find that oasis from the chaos…whatever that means for you. Find what makes you happy or brings you some peace.
You deserve no less.
For me, I’m grateful to be able to walk out my backdoor and experience a sense of nature, with birds and critters that are more to me than just healthy distractions. They provide a calmness while in the storms, and inspiration for a better day today…and in all the days to come.
