
It’s always fun to check out some new locations where eagles might be congregating…some stay the same, year after year, and others change. Nothing in nature is ever really static. Through the tip of a friend, I checked out this spot of open water on the Iowa river, and sure enough, it turned out to be pretty good.
In this image, an adult eagle was resting comfortably on the ice, only to be strongly encouraged to move along by a larger immature bird who had just caught a fish. Such a juvenile!
