
After a rainy day, the clouds lined up pretty good for a shot of the Mississippi Mist fountain display in downtown Muscatine. It’s a cool fountain and I mean that in every sense of the word. Its ornamentally designed to mimic the old steamboat smoke stacks and is a terrific spot to cool off on a really hot day. Families are often found here in the summer…but on this late afternoon it had cooled down so much as to be downright comfortable for an Iowa summer evening. No fountain frolicking was required to temper the heat.
