It was pretty much a quiet day in the backyard as far as birds go. Having a hawk hanging around might be part of the reason. When I went out to do some chores, I noticed it glided off into the woods. If you aren’t looking around for such things they would be easy to miss. I have mentioned before that my luck with catching one of these birds in a good photographic spot has been pretty limited. I’m usually inside and have to shoot through a window. But this afternoon, something told me to get the camera ready, so I got things together and slinked outside behind some camo netting. Within a minute the hawk was back and hopping around from perch to perch. Things couldn’t have gone better if I had planned it…but luck provided the goods today.
