It’s important, I think, with regards to our current state of affairs, to focus more on the small, but good things that are around us. If not now, when would be a better time?
Is it delusional to turn off the news and to feed one’s mind with other things? Only you can be the judge of that for yourself of course…and while I’m not advocating for a complete denial of the realities at hand…I have also come to learn that I am not at my best, or healthiest place, when I am constantly stressed due to any fears of what may (or may not) happen to me or my friends and family.
What we consciously choose to focus on in life will always be an important aspect of not just surviving, but thriving…even in chaos. But it is up to each of us to choose, when and how we remain connected to the rest of the world, and when and how we disconnect and find renewal and a resurrection of our energies.
I find comfort and joy in the taking of a photograph. I find peace among the wildlife and the birds…sometimes in wild places, but if need be, I can find good things in my own backyard.
For you, these good little things may be entirely different…it doesn’t really matter what they are, or where they are… it only matters that you are willing to look for them…or maybe it would be better to say, to stop overlooking them…I have no doubt they are there for you…just waiting for your appreciation.
