You can’t really go wrong spending the evening down by the river. Mark Twain apparently found inspiration from doing so, and he didn’t turn out so bad. The thing about a river, any river really, is that it’s usually the life blood of any region it runs through. This goes for wildlife, and all manner of aquatic critters…not the least of which is the river boat captain. Yes, the boats still run…much like they did in the late 1800’s. The form has changed of course, from a slow slogging paddle wheeler, to a more modern and maneuverable towboat. But they still move a lot of cargo up and down the Might Mississippi.
