As a final eagle photo for the season, I figured I’d share one of my favorites. It looks far more exciting than it was in reality. This eagle was walking along the ice edge when it must have spotted the fish, fairly lethargic I might add. The bird jumped into the water with both feet and pulled this catfish out. There was nothing particularly dramatic about it…well, maybe for the catfish…but in the end, the bird posed nicely before flying off, with several other birds in pursuit.
