Bald Eagles can spend most of the winter in close proximity to one another. There are advantages to this in that they may pirate off one another for a fish now and then. Juveniles are particularly prone to chasing after another bird with a fish. At the same time, all this togetherness can cause a little tension now and then. Like when one bird has a prime spot for fishing the edge of the ice, and another bird would like a little of that action. This…is a battle for real estate…nothing more, but it’s enough for some dramatic action to the camera’s eye.
