This winter season, if I’m to be honest, is not a record breaker for eagle photography. It hasn’t been terrible, but it hasn’t been great either. In the grand scheme of things it doesn’t matter much to many…but as odd as we may be, there are more than a few photographers who really enjoy the activity of capturing a memorable image of an eagle. The reason for the lackluster experience is pretty obvious…it is simply not cold enough. The birds are around…all over the place, actually, and in great numbers. But they aren’t gathering very much…which is what we usually hope for. Nevertheless, I’ll remain hopeful that we’ll see a few days of fun and frolic with our Nation’s symbol before spring comes, and then we move onto cranes, snow geese, and the other migrants that return for the summer to our backyard.
