The business of landscape photography is usually a hit or miss proposition….mostly filled with misses, almost-had-its, and sunsets that were so close to being epic (but fizzled out at the last moment) that you sometimes wonder if it’s worth the time and effort you put into it.
But it’s always worth it. Because you won’t ever see the great ones if you’re not out there in the first place.
This one at the marsh was so close to being great…the sunset it just starting to kiss the clouds on the right, with hints of amber that almost surely had to spread gradually across the sky to light up all the clouds on this fine evening. Until they didn’t.
Oh well…outside, in nature, is still the best place to be. A sunset may not always live up to one’s expectations…but they are all beautiful. Unique in their forms and colors. They are worth chasing, anytime you get the chance.
