Mark Twain most likely made the Mississippi River sunsets famous in Muscatine. In truth though, some have been blazing incredible spectacles long before his arrival, and long after his departure. But his sentiment is appreciated. I have had the pleasure of witnessing many myself over the years…and none are quite like those that follow the scattered rains and storms. Nearly anything artistic seems possible in the skies above when the conditions and the light is right. At times they are enough to impress anyone, from the commonest of men, to one of the greatest literary giants of all time.
