Social Distancing Is Nothing New

March 30, 2020

I’ve been practicing social distancing, long before it became a buzzword, and a new way of life for most people these days.  Thing is, it’s not really a new thing at all…nature uses it all the time.  Take for instance this happening from a few years ago.  You have a really popular perch…and a fair number of eagles around.  A smaller male eagle sets down for what he thinks will be a nice, relaxing afternoon…then a much bigger eagle decides to change that plan.  Here you see the mandatory six foot distance being preserved for safety’s sake.  There’s a lot of motivation at play here…since the big bird could make mincemeat out of the little bird…the latter is wise to maintain some separation.  Social distancing at it’s best!
