Farmers around me here in Iowa know all too well that they are at the mercy of the weather when it comes to their crop growing and making a living off the land.
In a similar but less dramatic way, winter eagle photography is like that in the Midwest. If it’s cold enough the getting is pretty good. If it’s too warm, there won’t be much to brag about in the end. And this winter has been one of the milder ones on record.
Still, it’s important to remain grateful when the chances come. To be outside, among the eagles and wildlife…and to count every minute of it as precious.
