LST 325 is a ship that’s seen a bit of history. It was part of the D-Day landings in France, in June of 1944. Over the years the ship has served in the Greek Navy, but was acquired and brought to the US to serve as a museum, to remember those who served in WWiI, both in the United States (think manufacturing) and the soldiers overseas who helped to liberate Europe.
We were fortunate to have LST 325 visit Muscatine for five days in September. Around 10,000 people are said to have toured the ship, so it sounds like a successful stop on their fall tour. They hit a couple of other towns on the Mississippi river before heading back to Evansville Indiana where they are based.
Since the ship spent a bit of time here I was able to collect a decent number of images that I liked. You can view the collection of selected images here.
