Incoming Eagle – Thankful For Snow

January 30, 2019

The winter leading into 2019 has been a mild one so far.  Way too mild temperature wise.  Eagles just won’t congregate in warmer weather, like they do when it get’s really cold and a lot of waters freeze up.  But by mid January, it’s starting to cool off.  This image was taken on one of those gray, cold, wintery days after a pretty good snow storm.  To be honest, the day was just ugly and cold.  But the snow did one amazing thing…as this bird passed over this snow-covered sandbar, it made the bird pop from below.  Almost as good as using a flash only better.
